I have already put a couple of films through both cameras, so I thought it worth giving examples of those. I can’t quite suss how to put both sets as a slideshow in one posts so I’ve made two posts.
I make no apologies for roughness of frame edges, I’m still trying to get the frame wind-on right. And, as always, my developing needs a bit more practice. Negatives have been scanned and then some minor photoshop correction – white spots, contrast and a dodge of sharpening to the web sized image.

And the lovely softness of Balda… Got one myself and have been playing with it quite a long time ago. That was before I even had my darkroom if I remember correctly… I wonder where those negatives have gone…
I love the door (well, I had said that before, no?), the tree shadow and the church (?) 🙂 And the street really takes you back to the time when that camera was the thing to have – very nice…. 🙂
Thank you.
yes the door, not sure about the other one, maybe.
The Balda has a definite vignetting effect by the look of it, so I’ll have to watch out for that.
Yes, I know what you mean about the street scene. What I would particularly like to get a grasp of is why do certain images ‘look’ of an age, while the subject is modern. Is it something of the contrast, lighting – I’m not talking here of deliberate ageing techniques – though perhaps that’s part of it…….
